Reflecting on Your Progress with Finasteride

Monitoring your progress as you take the medication is a good measure of how well your treatment is working, so let’s take a look at what your hair will often look like before and after commencing Finasteride treatment.

Before Taking Finasteride

After Taking Finasteride

Checking ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos from other men who’ve taken the medication can help inform you about how well the product works. We’d advise that you take photos weekly from the moment you commence Finasteride up until the one-year point.

Within the first few months, some shedding can occur; this is perfectly normal and means the treatment is working as it should. Many people confuse this for side effects that could happen but this is not the case.

The first signs of progress can be seen from 3-6 months, like your hair is looking slightly thicker than before. At the 6-month mark, more significant signs of these changes could be evident.Remember, the most important sign that a hair loss treatment is working is that you haven’t lost any further hair. 

Maintain consumption of the oral tablet as prescribed for the full effects of the treatment to work, the signs of could appear at around 9-12 months. The goal is to address your hair issues by slowing and, hopefully stopping, miniaturisation.

We advise you to check the photos you’ve taken between the first day and the endpoint to notice the changes. Keep an eye on whether there are fewer hairs on your pillow in the morning and if your comb has as many strands on it after brushing.
