What is biotin good for?

Biotin can potentially improve the health of your hair, and is an important component of our Complete and Non-Prescription treatment plans. Specifically, biotin has been shown to enhance the structure of keratin - particularly in men who are keratin-deficient - which is a protein that is crucial for hair growth. So, with these things considered, what are the benefits of taking a daily biotin supplement?

Hair support

There is evidence to suggest that taking regular biotin supplementation can positively influence the structure of your hair. Primarily, this is due to biotin’s role in the production of keratin, which is a crucial protein that makes up your hair. Biotin is known to support and enhance the protein, which has led researchers to verify that there is a link between the health of your hair and biotin.

In fact, studies have indicated that there is a correlation between biotin supplementation, hair volume, scalp coverage, and the thickness of your hair. Although there’s no evidence to suggest that biotin can treat male pattern hair loss, supplementation can assist in improving the quality of the hair that you currently have on your head. When used in tandem with one of our treatment plans, you have the best possible chance of boosting the quality of your hair.

Potential improvement of your nails and skin

The most prevalent symptoms of biotin deficiency include skin rashes and brittle nails. If you take a regular biotin supplement, it is likely that you will see an improvement in the quality of your skin and nails, as well as the hair on your head. This is particularly true for anyone who is biotin deficient.

Although there’s not enough evidence to say conclusively, existing studies have suggested that people who took a biotin supplement saw an improvement in their biotin-deficiency symptoms. Therefore, if you have poor quality nails and skin, our biotin supplement could help you.

If you’re considering hair loss treatment or are just looking to boost the structure of your hair, you could certainly benefit from a biotin supplement. Start your consultation today to find out which of our plans is best suited to your current circumstances.
